- It's either these micro transactions, monthly fee, some kind of gold club membership or advertisement-based financing. Of these evils, this one actually looks rather tasteful way to remind us that the company needs money. I wouldn't want advertisements on my face on every occasion. Yes, MMO genre is disgrace for us old school gamers, but what's there to do about it? Don't play MMOs, which GW2 will be.

Or they could not make a sequel and instead just keep on with expansions.

Hey if people have the money to blow, let them. I'm practically fine with the way my character looks. Though I really think that all accounts should have gotten a free make-over credit. It would have been another nice gift.

Oh shut up you blubbering babies. As stated, this COMPANY is out to make money. Duh. You already arent paying monthly for this game, so keep quiet. These features added were for the people who will pay for it. I know I will be paying for a couple of things. Well worth my money. Since I invest a lot of game time into this game (going on 4 years), I think i owe it to the developers. You should be thankful that none of these things affect the game. Sure theres going to be different looking characters and new names. But at least the premium members (or spoiled brats) dont get more power over the regular user. If everyone who was complaining about this ignored it, not only would it not affect their game, they probably will never need to look at it. So really. Quit being little school girls.

I am very dispointed that we have to pay for any of this shit. it should be free, or at least have some serious hard core quests for it...and the NCsoft store needs to add extra servers to allow more people on the page...this is ridiculus

Scuze me, your irony is showing.

So, don't want to pay for it, yet expect the game to have better servers. I'll let you ponder that one for a little while.

it is somewhat appealing that you can get hair style from any campaign, skin tone face, etc. Unfortunately, I'm not paying for that, I like the guy the way he is. More serious players would probably enjoy this update.

Makeover kit isn't that bad... everything else? Complete rip-off, especially the name change.

I'm with this. Dropping gold on a hair cut and dye job. No problem, I'd even drop platinum on it and possibly do it more then once, great gold sink. Spend actual money on this? No chance in hell.

If you're happy with the update why don't you "keep quiet" Duh. Just cause you're wasting your money with micro-transactions; no need to try and justify your incredible naivety by belittling others opinions on the subject.

NTY A-net; I would RATHER delete my main and make a NEW name for him than pay 15 American dollars to change it. It' just not worth it, and 10 bucks for makeovers and such? I can buy proph for 10 bucks wth do I need to spend it on pixels for?

Look at the prices for everything else. $15 for ONE CHARACTER name change. What if I all of a sudden wanted to create a "family" out of my characters...I have ten. Three of which have similar names, the rest would need to be changed, at least in gender. That's 7 characters for name changes, that's $105 just for simple name changes.

I'd rather delete mules and remake them for free. Can you give new characters faces and hairstyles from different campaigns at the start, or do you need to buy these stupid makeovers to do that?

I never saw any mention of a-kyle saying the game needed better servers, but the NCsoft store needing better servers... after spending two hours just trying to use the store, unsuccessfully due to pages failing to load/timing out... I think maybe the NCsoft store is some kind of bizarre game... either way, RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO you NCsoft, no money for you. That is an atrocious level of support when you can't even USE support nor buy from the online store.

Sure it's not their fault, it's over loaded with GW players getting their free storage pane (or trying too)... and if they couldn't see this sort of traffic coming and make suitable plans for it, those responsible need to be beaten to death, nothing that stupid deserves to live.

Back to the thread topic... generally overpriced, yes, didn't expect otherwise. Would it be nice if you could purchase the makeovers/name changes and other cruft with ingame gold... yes, but Anet is busy making GW2 (still), Tabula Rasa ate a hole in NCsoft's pockets... send more money please, love NCsoft.

Blah.

The Zaishen coin/quest stuff looks cool, so nice update.

Hope you guys don't play WoW. It charges for character re-customization and a 15 buck monthly.

Yeah this is wrong. I think changing hair should atleast be free...

Also!

Characters should be able to mix chapters in initial creation now atleast. This is too big too make us pay for completely, i'm sorry what's happening here is WRONG.

I think the feature is fine.

I won't be paying for a makeover of my characters, because I already remade the only one I wasn't happy with. I like the rest and I'm used to way they look. However, lots of people have been asking for this feature, I'm sure at least some of them will pay money for it.

All I can really add to this is that the Extreme Makeover should include a name change since some of us use decent names that reflect one's gender.

As it stands, I'd have to use a Character Name Change along with a Extreme Makeover if I wanted to change my character's appearance.

I have no real objection to them charging for changes to the character. In fact, I would buy one hair change and some extra storage if it were not for the fact you have to associate the game account with PlayNC. I just simply will not do that - period.
